Tu Reh is waiting for his father to rescue him, the sisters, and their grandfather from Chiko. Tu Reh is hoping soldiers come to find Chiko so he can protect the sisters and their grandfather, and prove he is ready to fight. Tu Reh is fearful that the Burmese army is trying to rescue Chiko and they will all be captured or killed. Tu Reh is stalling for time so the Burmese soliders will have time to find the hut and its cache of weapons.
