The children within the age range you are observing should be communicating with peers through learning opportunities at a developmentally appropriate level. Your observations should provide a picture of the social development of the child within the learning environment. Form a mini-lesson about how to be a good friend and how not to be a good friend in preschool to implement with a group or class that includes the child.
Review your observations to determine where the child is meeting social development milestones and where additional support might be beneficial.
