Passage #6-Test Taking
Staring blankly at my exam in my organized classroom, I tapped my
yellow pencil rapidly on the side of my desk and desperately tried to
focus. Working up some courage, I neatly wrote an answer to the second
question. Just as quickly, I erased the answer, not wanting to leave a trace
or smudge of it on the blank white paper. As the teacher announced that
time was almost up, I looked around the room at all of my peers focused
on the task at hand. I stared wildly at my blank test, trying to remember
what the teacher had said in class last week or what I had read in the
textbook. My hands were sweaty and shaky. Before I knew it, the timer
reached zero and I was the only one not finished.
