In a PwC Pulse survey across company size and industries taken in a recent year, business leaders were asked how important hiring and retaining talent was to their company’s ability to grow. Seventy-seven percent of these business leaders responded that hiring and retaining talent was very important. Suppose a similar survey of 430 business leaders was conducted this year and 73% responded that hiring and retaining talent was very important to their company’s ability to grow. Is this enough evidence to declare that a significantly lower proportion of business leaders now believe that hiring and retaining talent is very important to their company’s ability to grow? Use a 1% level of significance to test this hypothesis. Would the conclusion change if the level of significance was 5%?
