By straightening the knees and using the ankle movement freely, the rise of the knees may be lessened several inches. When the pedal is at the highest point, the toe should be raised and the heel lowered. . . . although the right pedal is at the highest point, the knee has made very little impression on the front skirt. The feet should be in line with the machine, turning neither in nor out. The knees must be kept pretty close to the machine and should not move laterally at any part of the circle.
