Do you lift heavy objects at work? This is the most common
way to injure yourself. These tips can help you lift more safely.

Do:
First, assess the load. What are you
lifting? What shape is it? Do you think
you will need help?
Next, assess your pathway. Make sure
that nothing is in your way. You don't
want to trip on anything. Are there
stairs? Is there enough light? Is it
Indoors or outdoors? Is it wet or icy?
When lifting, keep your spine straight
and your head up. Keep the object
close to your body.
Lift with your legs. Keep your legs
apart. Your legs should be the same
distance apart as your shoulders.
Do Not:
Do not bend your back. Don't twist
your body. Do not lift above the level
of your chest.
