A Night at the Palace
At the end of another work day that felt like it
lasted a million years, William delivered his
last telegraph and headed for a much-
deserved treat at his favorite place, the movie
palace. As he walked, the movie palace's
marquee was a distant lighthouse beacon
cutting through the foggy night, guiding him
through the jagged city streets.
When he rounded the corner, William spotted
his friend James who, he quickly realized, was
feeling melancholy after a brutal work week of
his own. Both teens worked long hours at jobs
that had no hope of advancement, so William
understood how James was feeling all too
well
