Your first essay for ENG101 will be a descriptive essay. A descriptive essay uses clear language to describe an object or
place of importance. Using one of the prompts listed in the Instruction section of the lesson (or developing your own),
describe a potential subject for an essay (1-2 paragraphs).
Once you have described your topic, write a thesis statement that includes three supports for your topic.
Finally, complete a prewriting exercise, such as a free write, a mind-map, or any other tool that appealed to you when you
viewed The Writing Process presentation.
