Studies have shown that people with an XYY chromosomal configuration are overrepresented in prison populations. Carefully conducted empirical studies suggest that the reason for the overrepresentation of the XYY pattern among prisoners is that:
a-People with the XYY pattern have confused sexual identities and thus are more likely to become violent than are people with other chromosomal patterns.
b.The XYY pattern is associated with slightly lower intelligence than the most common chromosomal patterns, and prisoners on the average tend to have lower IQ levels than the general population.
c.The XYY pattern causes violent criminal behavior.
d.The XYY pattern is associated with elevated levels of testosterone, which, in turn, is associated with increased aggression.
