Eric has two children, Frederick and Georgia. Frederick wants to buy a house at Eton Beach, but can only afford one third of the purchase price. Georgia says, 'I can help you out with another third, that's what families are for'. Eric provides the remaining third to allow Frederick to buy the house, title to which is in his name. Eric gets sick and needs urgent cash to go overseas for treatment, while Georgia has decided she now wishes to buy her own house. She asks Frederick to pay her back. Frederick insists that their contributions were gifts, and he has no obligation to return the monies. Does he have to do so?
