HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SPEECH:
When you prepare a speech, you need to take into consideration your purpose and your
audience. Whom are you addressing? Why are you addressing them? How can you make
your speech interesting to them?
Do thorough research on your topic.
You need to plan carefully. A speech needs to be organised and logically structured, with
an introduction, a body and a conclusion.
Collect texts, pictures, posters, cartoons or any other visual material, and display or refer
to these while you present your speech.
Write a speech which, when read at a moderate pace, lasts at least three minutes. Read
your passage aloud to a friend who will be able to assist you with pronunciation and
fluency.
Marks will be awarded according to the amount of preparation and planning evident.
