Directions: In box 1, describe how each particular section of the treaty punished Germany. In box 2, list any
changes you would make to this section of the treaty. In box 3, write down
why you would change it.
How would you renegotiate the Treaty of Versailles so that it would have created a lasting
peace? You will learn in
the next packet that Hitler eventually came to power in Germany and
ignored all aspects of this treaty

Germany was forced to
admit guilt starting the war,
and for the death and
destruction the war
ultimately brought to the
countries involved.
2) What improvements would you
make?
I would not make them admit
blame for it in public by
signing this section of the
treaty. I would have all
countries take responsibility for
destruction they caused and
agree to find a way to avoid
future wars.
3) Explain why you would
change it.
I think this form of public
humiliation ultimately just
made Germany angry
toward the Allies.
