Matter can be in four states: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma.
Solid: Solids have a fixed shape, like a rock. Their particles
are tightly packed.
Liquid: Liquids can flow and take the shape of their
container, like water. Particles move more freely.
Gas: Gases, such as the air we breathe, have no fixed
shape, and their particles move freely.
Plasma: Plasma is a hot, charged gas found in lightning and
stars. It has no fixed shape, and particles move rapidly.
