I did a Phenol Red Broth test on an unknown bacteria project, and the result was a dark orange, but the upside down durham tube in it is sort of floating and has a pretty long gas bubble. Does this mean its a positive result of the bacteria eating the sugar, producing gas but not enough acid to change the color to yellow or still negative because its not entirely yellow even if there is gas??
