Below are views for and against ratification of the Constitution.
The Constitution will create a national
government more tyrannical than the
British government ever was. Our indi-
vidual liberties will be under a constant
threat. We need better safeguards than the
assurances of the Constitution's supporters.

We must have a stronger national govern-
ment to protect our interests against foreign
powers and domestic unrest. The separation
of powers and federalism will sufficiently
curb the ambitions of the new national
government. This is assurance enough to
protect our freedoms.
