Injury characterized by immediate and transient post-traumatic impairment of neural function
with a mechanism of injury that is commonly a direct blow to the head from either a fixed or
moving object and is often accompanied with rotation. Signs and symptoms include
headache, altered levels of consciousness, confusion, disorientation, dizziness, amnesia,
balance disturbances, sensitivity to noise and/or light, and emotional changes.
