For this activity, your task is to pretend that you are the owner of a soon-to-be opened fitness facility. You will be creating a basic outline of the business plan for your facility. This plan will give a broad overview of the different activities, equipment, classes, and types of fitness addressed at your facility. Your facility does not have to be a traditional gym with treadmills and weights, though it certainly can be. Your facility may be an indoor rock climbing facility, a trampoline-based fitness facility, an indoor-outdoor boot camp, or a combination of any number of fitness-based activities that creates a totally original facility that you have invented. You may present your business outline in a word document or a brief slideshow. Each business plan presentation must include the following information: A name for your facility A brief description about your facility in general, the type of fitness activities that will be available at the facility with a brief description of each, and any other amenities offered, also with brief descriptions. Keep in mind that people of diverse backgrounds and abilities may want to use your facility: Include in your description how your fitness facility might meet some of those diverse needs. Your personal outlook/mission statement on the importance of physical fitness and the goals of your facility A clear set of etiquette rules for your facility A minimum of three graphics – hand-drawn or photographs/diagrams/clip art found online Membership options and pricing: monthly, weekly, daily, yearly, etc. Properly-cited sources for all graphics or information researched and gathered from other sites or sources Make sure that your business outline is easy to understand, broken into appropriate sections or slides, and appealing to the eye. You may choose to include color, interesting fonts, and more than three graphics in order to boost the aesthetic appeal of your plan.
