A graph shows the life expectancy of various world regions from 1950 to 2005. The regions include Asia (excluding the Middle East), Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, North America, Oceania, South America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. North America has consistently had the highest life expectancy of all the world's regions, with Europe, and Oceania close behind. South America, Central America and the Caribbean along with Asia and the Middle East and North Africa also have shown consistent growth in life expectancy. Sub-Saharan Africa has the lowest life expectancy of all regions. The life expectancy there was on the rise after 1950 until it began to decline in the 1980s.
