Name that Element

Look at the atoms pictured below. Using what you know about subatomic particles, identify the element and name that atom. Identify its location on the periodic table(period and group) whether it is a Neutral Atom, Ion, or Isotope. If it is an Ion, identify whether it is positively or negatively charged.

Use your Periodic Table or the one below as a reference.

Remember: Atomic Number is based on the number of PROTONs in the Nucleus. In the example Neon has 10P so when you look at the periodic table for element 10 you see it is Neon

Period is the row the element is in
Group is the column
An element is Neutral if the protons and neutrons are the same, it is an ISOTOPE if the PROTONS and NEUTRONS are different, it is an ION if the PROTONS and ELECTRONS are different.
If the number of ELECTRONS are greater it has a NEGATIVE charge
If the number of PROTONS are greater it has a POSITIVE charge.
