Raj heard the doorbell ring. His first guests had arrived, right on time. He opened the door, and three friends were there. "Come on in!" Raj said. "Do you want some nachos? Pretzels? Popcorn?" The first half hour flew by as he answered the door and greeted guests. Soon he remembered his party playlist. He plugged his phone into the speakers and pressed play. No sound. He checked the plugs and the connections. He turned the speakers on and off. Still no sound. He would have to think fast, or he wouldn't be able to play the music he wanted. He knew he had a pair of old speakers in the back of his closet. He ran to find them. When he got to the closet, he swung all his clothes to one side. No speakers. He pulled everything out to make sure. No speakers. Someone called from downstairs. "Raj! Where did you go? Come play darts with us!" "I'm just trying to figure out the speakers. Be right there," he answered. Another guest called up to Raj. "Pizza's here!" "Oh good!" Raj shouted. "Help yourselves!" Maybe the speakers were under the bed? He slid some boxes out from under it and found the speakers. Finally! He pulled them out and brushed the dust off of them. But where was the power cord? He got on his belly and crawled halfway under the bed, pushing aside old socks and forgotten books. No power cord. Maybe it was in the closet? He went back to the closet, but stopped to check his watch. It was getting late. He was hungry. And somehow he had missed an hour of his own party.
