cycle. It can get complicated with the different kinds of bacteria that help cycle nitrogen,
so I will provide you with the bacteria-related terms that should be labeled and
represented in your drawing: nitrogen fixation by bacteria (nitrogen gas taken out of
the atmosphere and converted to ammonia), nitrification by bacteria (ammonia
converted to nitrites and nitrates that plants can use), denitrification by bacteria and
fungi (decomposers put nitrogen gas back into atmosphere). Be sure to represent the
other participants in the nitrogen cycle.
