Honors 2-D Motion
Purpose: To create a presentation explaining the motion of projectiles

Introduction: So far you have studied motion that is in one direction, such as an object moving left or right (horizontal motion) or an object moving up and down (vertical motion). However, many objects move in two dimensions simultaneously, meaning while they are moving horizontally, they are also traveling in a vertical manner.

This research option will allow you to learn about a very common type of two-dimensional motion called projectile motion. In your research, make sure to answer the following questions:

Introduction:
What objects are considered projectiles, and what constitutes two-dimensional projectile motion?
Exploration:
Describe at least two types of projectile motion problems studied in physics, based on how the projectile is launched.
What makes the types similar and different?
Give some real-world examples from your personal life.
Explain the differences between the horizontal component of motion and the vertical component of motion for projectile motion.
Describe in your own words the kinematics equations and process for solving both types of projectile motion problems. Make sure to list specific terminologies used for projectiles.
Application:
Show a sample physics projectile motion problem and its solution for both types of projectile motion.
You can choose to do a report or a presentation. Reports should be set to 12-point font, 1-inch margins, double-spaced paragraphs, and between three to four pages in length. Presentations can use any software approved by your instructor.

Whether you do a report or a presentation, your submission should contain visuals that aid in your understanding of projectile motion.

You will need at least two sources and should provide them on a separate page or slide from the report or presentation.

Instead of bullet points, please put this into a research paper format. Remember that it needs to be at least two full double spaced typed pages, not including the header information or the works cited page.
Your paper needs to be in MLA format. This is one of the two major paper formats that colleges use. This includes in-text citations so I can see where you use your sources and the formatting of your sources themselves. Take a look at http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ for more information on the MLA format.
