Write a short story that contains elements of magical realism as seen in "A
Very Old Man with Enormous Wings." Choose between one of the two
following prompts:
1. Choose a story we have read and add elements of magical realism to it.
Please do not copy the story word-for-word. Instead, use the characters and
plot already in place to add magical realism to a scene.
2. Tell a story about a member of your family and include elements of magical
realism. This will be like a "tall tale" that a grandparent might tell the young
grandchild to impress them.
Your story should be at least two pages in length and demonstrate that you
understand magical realism.
