• Include the below components in the drafted Introduction Section/Literature Review for your
hypothetical research study. Please NOTE: Although these guidelines are in an outline format, you
are writing your literature review in PARAGRAPH form.
Beginning:
• First sentence (general introduction)
• Area of interest defined/explained
Middle:
• Thematic organization (organize the discussion of articles according to themes rather than
going article by article)
o Logical organization of results
o Consistent results
o Inconsistent results
• Transitions
• Brief summarization of each result presented, with mention of methodology
• Critical evaluation of each result (strengths and weaknesses)
• Analysis and synthesis across studies, "Taken together," "Similarly," "In contrast..."
End:
• Summary and conclusion about the literature review
• Analyze gaps in the literature and provide a rationale for the present study
• Present study research question explicitly stated
• Brief mention of "how" the study will be done (methodology used to address the question)

Throughout:
• No quotes
• APA in-text citations, proper format, and placement

Use at least five (5) scholarly sources in your assignment and include all references and citations properly formatted in APA.
