Thesis statement: Banning these platforms violates the individual freedom of expression, it is a source of income and entertainment, plays a vital role as an information hub in this era.

Argument 1.

Evidence: Globally, 4.59 billion people are on social media with majority of young adults using different applications and platforms. (Dixon, 2022)
Summarize: So, banning these platforms could affect the people especially the adolescents.
Argument 2:
Topic sentence: it is a source of income and entertainment.
Evidence: In this digital era, with the usage of mobiles in developing countries has created a more connected world promoting brands at wider audience and a smooth run of business. Stanley, R (2018).
Summarize: with these platforms it provides advantage on both parties. It even provides opportunity for the adolescent to come up with their own brands that can eventually generate income.

Topic sentence: Plays a vital role as an information hub in this era.
Evidence: in today’s world the public’s reliance on social media has made the role of Public Information Officer adapt social media as a communication channel. Mitcham D et.al (2021).
Summarize: with the rise in popularity of social media for information, it has played a crucial role in the field of emergency management.

Topic sentence: fosters innovations and learning.
Evidence: social media has potential to promote creativity of individuals and acquiring new techniques that can turn rural areas into a sustainable one. Onitsuka, K (2019).
Summarize: although the use of social media in rural areas is low due to the lack of exposure to modern world, it has the power to level up the thinking capacity of people and come up with new ideas.
Counter argument.
Topic sentence: it can lead us to create social problems.
Evidence: According to Amedie, J. (2015) “social media being a source of depression and anxiety, it is also a common source of stress to its users. In a survey performed on 7,000 mothers, found that 42% of mothers using the photo-sharing site Pinterest, reported occasionally suffering from Pinterest stress.” (p.8)
Summarize: on the contrary, social media causes depression and anxiety which affects the mental health of individuals.
Conclusion.
Nevertheless, social media acts as an information hub, it is also a source of income and entertainment which fosters innovations and learning. Banning these platforms breaches the individual freedom of expression.
