At times, probation and parole offices may have resources within the office, but oftentimes, local, state, and federal service efforts are utilized. Most probationers and parolees need housing assistance, assistance with finding a job, access to educational and training opportunities, access to food, transportation services, mental health services, substance abuse services, health care services, and access to clothes, to name a few.
Do a list of at least 5 resources that could potentially be utilized to help your client. At least three of these must be local (Hampton Roads region or where you live). Others you find must be available broadly or accessible to your client, who is based where you live. Use local searches and key terms such as "probation services," "substance abuse Hampton Roads," "reentry services," etc.--some are comprehensive and holistic service providers with multiple risks/needs, and some might be more specific.
