What is a population?
O a group of tree monkeys, a cluster of trees, a pile of rocks, and a fierce wind
O A community of organisms interacting with one another and with their environment. Ecosystems can be large cities, vast jungles and forests, small tide pools, or even a terrarium.
O A group of individuals of the same type that live in a certain area at a certain time. The population of deer grew larger every year after the wolves left the area.
O Life on Earth is interdependent. Producers, like plants, capture the sun's energy and convert it to chemical energy that is used by all animals. Nonliving factors, like the water cycle and the carbon cycle, support life. When one factor changes, it has a domino effect on all others. Life is in a delicate balance on Earth and small changes to this balance has large and long-lasting consequences.
