Task 1: Write a Rough Draft

Use the outline from Lesson 6.1 and compose your rough draft. As you write, consider the following items. If you need a review of these conventions, go back to Lesson 4.3 and 4.4.

Produce compound-complex sentences that use dependent clauses, subordinating conjunctions, conjunctive adverbs, correlative conjunctions, and coordinating conjunctions to add interest and complexity to your writing.

Ensure your pronouns have a clear antecedent and are appropriate in number and person.

Use verbs effectively

Use modifiers effectively

Correct misplaced words and revise dangling modifiers.

Use prepositional phrases effectively
