Overview for Task #3
Task #3: You are a member of a management work committee assigned to improve team motivational skills for your company. This company is a software based developer. Your assignment, for the committee, includes, researching competitive companies motivational procedures, designing an "Employee Needs Survey", creating a strategies "Outline for Rewards", and to produce suggestions for motivatonal skill improvement. You will submit a "Findings Report" to the CEO of the company.
Follow the activities listed below to complete your task for this segment in which you will be able to:
Understand the relation between effort and performance
Determine the satisfaction needs of the employee
Discern the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic rewards
Produce suggestions for motivational skill improvement
Compile a complete "Findings Report"
Submit Project through Blackboard's Assignment tool Friday of week 8.
Developing Motivating Employees
Examples for clarification are found on text pages indicated with parentheses in the information listed below.
1 Understand the Relationship Between Effort and Performance
Considering your company's background, make a list of abilities needed to be a successful employee (pg. 284).
What constraints might hamper job performace (pg. 284)?
2 Determine the Satisfaction Needs of the Employee
Familiarize yourselves with the needs scale (pg. 286).
Where would your employee's fall?
What would be some of the mitigating factors for this decission?
3 Discern the Difference Between Extrinsic and Intrinsic Rewards
What type of extrinsic rewards would be motivational to your employee's (pg. 287)?
In the sofeware industry which reward system would be most motivational?
Research other similar companies motivational process.
Develop an outline of your research which you can present to your CEO.
4 Produce Suggestions for Motivational Skill Improvement
Research similar companies "Employee's Needs Surveys".
Create a 10 question "Employees Needs Survey" for your company (for reference use "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs").
After processing and analyzing the reaseach data, recommend possible motivational insentives for when an employee's needs change. (pg. 287-288).
5 Compile a Findings Report for the CEO
Design a Findings Report which you are submiting to your CEO, with all of the information you have gathered in the above steps.
This report is comprehensive and should include: Title Page, Table of Contents, Opening Statement, Employee Needs Survey, Rewards Stategies Outine, and a Conclusion with suggestions, recomendations, and supporting research material.
