Use the four-step method to judge this argument:
When we set out to learn a new skill or enhance one long unused, the best course of action is to find a good teacher—someone who is already farther on the path than we are. Once we have a good teacher, then we must make time to study the lessons and to practice. Our practice can take many forms, such as following a set of steps to reach an end product, copying the work of a master-artist, or making our own patters and such based on those we like. In any case, learning something new takes time, effort, and dedication if we want to be any good at the task.
