Source 1: "NASA Pays You to Help with Weightlessness Research" by Patricia Spooner
NASA, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, has conducted many research studies on the effects of weightlessness on astronauts.
The most recent test asks participants to lie in a slightly-tiled horizontal position for 70 days. The participant's head is positioned a bit lower than his feet. During this time, the participants can read, play on the computer or phone, take online classes, or anything else they choose to do, as long as they stay horizontal. Each day, they are asked to complete a certain type of exercise for a certain length of time. Rescarch participants are paid $18,000 to complete the study. NASA scientists believe the study will help keep astronauts healthier and safer when they go to space for long periods.

Source 2: "Get Paid to Sleep" by Chris Jones
Recently, NASA announced a mission suitable for anyone who has trouble getting out of bed. The Space Administration is prepared to pay up to $18,000 to eligible individuals who are interested in spending about 70 days lying down in a tilted bed, all in the name of research. The study is meant to test some of the conditions astronauts encounter in space. Likewise, scientists wil identify the physical changes that occur in the body and the level of function needed for a person to complete certain tasks. Scientists will also be able to see how blood circulates through the body and whether there are any risks involved. Volunteers will be required to live at a NASA station near the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
