Assessment and evaluation in nursing education determines learning needs and learning outcomes. There are many levels of evaluation and strategies that are useful in both the classroom, the clinical site, faculty, and programs. Program assessment strategies increase the evidence base to ensure that best practices are in place and contribute to the scholarship of teaching. Students and faculty both benefit from assessment and evaluation data. Faculty use this data to refine teaching and to demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence. Evaluation is a major responsibility of faculty and will involve rendering judgements that will serve as a basic mechanism of assuring quality in education. What about you..... will you schedule a peer-evaluation of your teaching?
