Write an essay, analyzing these two poems in comparison and/or contrast with one another. An analysis is not simply a summary or paraphrase. On the contrary, an analysis should look closely at specific poetic techniques, themes, points of view, images, symbols, etc. in order to prove your thesis. For instance, you may wish to analyze two poems which make use of an extended metaphor and show how each poet succeeds in using this metaphor to enliven his or her poem. This paper should be at least 3 double-spaced pages long.
