Imagine that you work for a car manufacturer that highly values both
reasonable costs for consumers and environmental benefits. You discover that
the technology used in your cars is not quite environmentally friendly enough
to justify the price that you've set for the cars, but it will be soon if your
company can research technological advancement. However, in order to fund
your company's research, you have to make a profit by selling cars. Your
company decides to create a means of cheating emissions tests in order to get
