In the cattle corridors of uganda there is intensive cattle rearing.The animals produce a large amount of manure.This is spread in the grasslands.under communal grazing, different cattle owners drive their animals to the same area.the pastures are trampled upon and eaten down to the root stock.the grazing area is able to carry the live weight of hundreds of animals.when it rains, the surface run off is loaded with top soil sediments.the combination of this and cow dung being rolled into balls by beetles, scavengers and decomposers are transported by water.The area turns into deep trenches with small and short vegetation.
