Data Project Checkpoint #2: Exploratory Data Analysis + Peer Review Written Assignment (PRWA) Part 1: Exploratory Data Analysis DUE 6/23 Part 2: Peer Review DUE 6/30 I. Goals & Objectives: The purpose of this assignment is to write a concise report summarizing your findings from the Exploratory Data Analysis process. The report should include two data visualizations, as well as clear and precise paragraphs that explain your EDA process. Furthermore, your report should include two initial hypotheses about relationships between key variables based on your insights. Keep in mind that these are preliminary hypotheses; it is okay if they change as you proceed with your analysis later down the line. Note: Should questions arise during this process, make sure to reference the Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) Guide for a detailed explanation of the EDA steps and procedures. Contacting your TA is always recommended as well. II. Assignment Requirements: Step #1: Data Set Exploration Familiarize yourself with the structure of the data set (number of rows/columns), the types of variables (numeric and categorical), and check for any missing values (good practice in general). Step #2: Data Visualization Create two types of graphs/plots: Numeric Variable: Create a histogram or scatter plot from numeric variables. Note that a histogram visualizes the distribution of a single numeric variable, whereas a scatter plot visualizes the relationship between two numeric variables. Categorical Variable: Choose a single categorical variable and create a suitable plot (such as a bar chart or pie chart) to understand the frequency/count of different categories. Step #3: Written Insights After creating the visualizations, write a concise report which briefly summarizes your data set exploration and explains the insights you were able to extract from the visualizations. Address the following prompt questions to structure your thoughts and paragraph. III. Report Guiding Questions: Your report should be between 150 to 750 words.
