This law made it unlawful for any person to hire, either directly or through a subcontractor, any alien, knowing that person was unable to work legally in the U. S.:

a. Simpson-Mazzoli Act
b. Chinese Exclusion Act
c. Hart-Cellar Act
d. Immigration Reform and Control Act
