Performance Task #1- Stage Directions in Drama
Assessed Objective:
•Students will be able to identify elements of drama in a given act or scene.
DIRECTIONS: As you've learned throughout this unit, stage directions and their meaning
can be significant in how you read or interpret scenes from a
play. These directions often
give the reader visual and thematic clues
as to how a character will act, how they're
supposed to be feeling, as well as what the scene
is supposed to reveal.
Refer back to the prior page, to scene where Romeo and Juliet first meet. Identify the stag
direction that help to define and set the scene. Use the rubric on
the next page to he
guide your writing for this performance assessment. (20 points)
