If you suspect a child is at risk of serious injury or death, then you should:

- Always call 911 to report your suspicions to law enforcement first
- Wait until your report is filed with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (if you live in Texas)
- Wait 48 hours and then notify your child care director
- Conduct an investigation to find out who the perpetrator is
