In the Grade R year, the timetable is called the “daily programme” and it consists of three main components.( 3 ) Study the table below. Word/statement Definition/answer 3.1.1 Teacher-guided activities A These are activities that take place at a regular time each day and include learning about the days of the week, months of the year, and dates on a calendar. 3.1.2 Routines B These are unplanned activities that happen when the teacher can offer insight to the learners. 3.1.3 Child-initiated or free-play activities C These are activities that have been built into the Life Skills CAPS document and often involve learners in physical education or health education. D These are activities that should be used as a primary avenue for the teaching and learning of all subjects in Grade R, both indoors and outdoors.
