Define a cultural artifact. Provide a detailed description of your two chosen artifacts, including who created them, who used them, and how they were used. Be sure to carefully describe your artifact so that even someone not familiar with the artifact can gain an idea of what the artifact is. If possible, include a picture of your two artifacts. As you describe your artifacts, consider the following questions: How would you describe the artifacts to someone who is not familiar with them? Who created the artifacts? Who are the users? Where and when were the artifacts created? Are they something you would use or see often? Explain what the initial purposes of your two artifacts were and whether the creator(s) succeeded in achieving them. As you explain the purpose, consider the following questions: What is the intended use of your selected artifacts? How have they actually been used? What was the original message the creator was trying to convey with the artifact? How was the artifact interpreted by others? Describe the social or cultural context of your two artifacts, including how you, friends, or family members interacted with them. Keep in mind that the use of an artifact and the context/interaction with an artifact can be different.
