78.4=0 *t + 1/2*9.8*tt
78.4 = 0+ 4.9 tt
tt=t(squqre) =78.4/4.9 =16
so t = sqrt16 =4 sec. the time needed to hit the ground.
B) how far =x =?
x =v(horizontal) *t =5*4 =20 m.
