The Environmental Protection Agency or EPA is a federal department that seeks to protect the environment through the enforcement of federal environmental standards and codes. The State of Florida also has an environmental protection agency which is called the Florida Department of Environmental Protection this agency would also be tasked with enforcing clean water legislation governing water use and quality in the everglades at the state level.
