France. The French near the end of the war provided reinforcements to the colonist at the right time. They send troops on land and had ships blocking the British escape at Yoprktown. The British general was Cornwallis and he was cornered by the French at sea and the combined military on land. The French sent aid in revenge against Britain for their lost in the previous war.
