How many 18's go Into 56?
- 3 remainder 2
How many 18's go into 23?
- 1 remainder 5
How many 18's go into 54?
- 3 remainder 0

From this we get the answer 313

You get these numbers by going along the digits of the number dividing and putting 18 into them and using the remainder on the next digit along. It sounds complicated explaining it but is a lot easier to show you haha just can't post a pic. Hope this helps.

3 times 18 gives 54. 56 subtract 54. That gives 2.

ii) Bring down the 3. So we have a new number 23.

iii) 18 into 23. That is 1.
1 times 18 gives 18. 23 subtract 18. That gives 5.

iv) Bring down the 4. So we have a new number 54.
18 inot 54. That is 3. 
3 times 18 also gives 54. 54 subtract 54. That is nothing.
