B. A marine west coast climate is hospitable to human habitation. Marine
west coast climates feature cool summers; cool but not cold winters;
few extremes in temperature; and an even distribution of precipitation
throughout the year. In the U.S., the Pacific Northwest is a good
example of a marine west coast climate. A steppe climate is dry, and
plant life is typically small. Deserts are too dry to be ideal for human
habitation. Subarctic climates are less hospitable due to the cold.
