The equation is as follows
W(2W-1)=21
[tex] 2W^{2} [/tex]-W=21
Subtract 21 from each side

You only do this for the first parenthese, 7÷2W=3.5
W=3.5
If W=3.5 then 2W-1⇒2×3.5-1⇒7-1⇒6
Length=6
If W=3.5 and L=6, then W(2W-1)=21
3.5(2×3.5-1)=21
Solve in parentheses first
3.5(7-1)=21
3.5(6)=21
3.5×6=21
The width is 3.5
The length is 6
