The easiest way for me to to this is divide the number you're finding the percent of and divide it by 100. From there, you multiply it by the percent's number. By percent's number I mean the number without the percent sign. Like 34% percent number is 34.
354/100 = 3.54
3.54 x 34 = 120.36
120.36 is 34% of 354
Another way that my teacher taught me was

To do this, you substitute your given values. "Is" is the number you're trying to find in this problem, or your "x". "Of" is 354. "%" is 34.
