lets say that you have 0.22 that would be 22/100
0.2=2/10
0.23=23/100
1.34=134/100
4.32=432/100
4.843=4843=4843/1000
so lets say that you have 9/4
that would be (2 fours in 9 so) 2 and 1/4 so to go back just multiply the '2' by the denomenator (bottom number or in this case it is 4) so 2*4=8 then add that to the top number so 1+8=9
