At the same time, the diplomacy of these nations worked to build military alliances that offered guarantees in a possible major conflict.
However, the US was a measure that went against this trend, introducing the "open door policy". According to this precept, all the great capitalist nations would have equal rights in carrying out the colonization and administration of their territories. In this way, the climate of competition and distrust would be reversed and this was the main objective.
